Brief Description:

  1. The faculty members are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise, and mentor graduate and undergraduate students,
  2. participate in committee(s) and other activities of the department, and
  3. build an independent research program, which complements and enhances ongoing research activities in the field and leads to publication and external funding, as well as provides service to the department, the college, the university, and the community.

General Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
  2. Must hold a master’s and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science.
  3. Must have strong research records and publications in reputable international journals commensurate with the rank and according to the applicable laws and regulations of Kuwait University and the promotion system of Kuwait University.
  4. Must have obtained all education qualifications from accredited universities by Kuwait University in a traditional residential, on-campus format and according to the applicable laws and regulations of Kuwait University.
  5. Must have a distinguished teaching experience in undergraduate/graduate levels as commensurate with the rank and according to the applicable laws and regulations of Kuwait University.
  6. Must be specialized in either Theory of Computation, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, or Bioinformatics.
  7. Applicant must demonstrate teaching experience in a broad range of core Computer Science courses such as (but not limited to) Data Structures, Algorithms, Computer Systems, Software Engineering, and Theory of Computation.
  8. Applicant must demonstrate significant research activity (grants and publications) with the research primarily focusing on one or more of the areas mentioned above.

Appointment to the rank of the professor requires:

  1. A minimum of 15 full-length research papers (not extracted from MS thesis or Ph.D. dissertation), published in refereed international journals.
  2. The 15 full-length research papers must be in the area of specialization with a minimum of 3 publications in the last 5 years.
  3. The applicant must be the first author in at least 8 of the 15 publications mentioned above.
  4. Serving as an associate professor for at least 4 academic years at a university, college, or institution.

Appointment to the rank of the associate professor requires:

  1. A minimum of 5 full-length research papers (not extracted from MS thesis or Ph.D. dissertation), published in refereed international journals.
  2. The 5 full-length research papers must be in the area of specialization with a minimum of 3 publications in the last 5 years.
  3. The applicant must be the first author in at least 3 of the 5 publications mentioned above.
  4. Serving as an assistant professor for at least 4 academic years at a university, college, or institution.

Appointment to the rank of assistant professor requires:

Strong research background and a strong publication record in refereed international journals in the area of specialization with a minimum of three publications in the last five years, after obtaining the Ph.D. degree, and not extracted from the M.S. thesis or Ph.D. dissertation. One of the three publications must be published within three years prior to this advertisement The applicant should be the first/sole author on at least one of the articles.

  8. Sample of Publications.
  9. Copy of Experience Certificates (if any).
